ZOOLOGY 4430/4432 -
INVERTEBRATE ZOOLOGY II
| Invertebrate Zoology II is the second
semester of a two-semester course on the 99% of the
Animal Kingdom that consists of animals without
backbones. The first semester, Invertebrate Zoology I, is
NOT a prerequisite for taking Invertebrate Zoology II.
The two courses cover different phyla. Invertebrate
Zoology II covers the two largest animal phyla, i.e.,
Arthropods and Mollusks, plus the Annelids and several small phyla closely related to these three large phyla.
You need both courses if you are in the marine biology
concentration, or if you want to know about ALL the
non-vertebrate animal phyla. However either Invertebrate
Zoology I or I. Z. II satisfies the B.A. or B.S. in
Biological Sciences upper division Zoology or Entomology
requirement, they both satisfy the diversity requirement,
and each can also satisfy 4 elective units. Both courses are required
for the Marine Biology Concentration and both count as diversity
courses in the Ecology and Field Biology Concentration. Both courses
are taught on Tues and Thurs. afternoons, with a lab and
a lecture each day. Invertebrate
Zoology II is taught during alternate Spring Semesters, Lecture Tues, Thurs
1:25-2:23 and Lab Tues, Thurs 2:30-5:38. |
