REQUIREMENT FOR MS
STUDENTS WHO HAVE FINISHED ALL COURSEWORK
Starting spring semester 1998, CSU
Stanislaus began requiring a fee from any masters student
who has completed all course work, including all Thesis
units (MSCI 5990), but who has not actually completed the
thesis. The fee ($125/semester) is required every
semester (Fall, Winter Term Spring and Summer) the
student is working on the thesis and is using any MLML or
Stanislaus resource (including faculty time) to finish
the thesis. Students in this position will need to
register for MSCI 7005, 0 units, $125, every semester
until the thesis is finished. Registration is through
regular CSU Stanislaus registration procedures. You must
not miss registration dates. I mail registration
information to all CSU Stanislaus/MLML students prior to
registration dates every fall (for winter and spring
registration) and spring (for summer/fall registration).
If you need to register for MSCI 7005 for summer, you
only need to register for one summer session, not both.
Unless you are defending your thesis in January, you do
not need to register for MSCI 7005 during the January
(one-month) winter term.
