Credits: All the source files were downloaded from other sites most of which are now gone. As long as I have permission to do so, the images will be available here. Many of the same paintings are now available from Brian Yoder's site.

Brian Yoder's Gallery at http://www.goodart.org A good size collection similar to mine with thumbnail links to the full image. Still active December 2002. Art Renewal Center at http://www.artrenewal.org/ December 2002. A very large collection displayed with large easy to see thumbnails. Some paintings are available as small $50 posters although the quality is not guaranteed. This is a good site by a charitable enterprise and has a few problems but otherwise works fine. The Web Museum at http://sunsite.unc.edu/wm/ A museum network mirrored on many sites run by Nicolas Pioch. Still active December 2002.

Comment: Art has always been a part of my everyday life. Unfortunately, it is beyond the financial reach of most people (including me) which means the art can only be enjoyed on rare trips to galleries and museums. A small quantity of art is available in $20-$50 poster style reproductions but not enough. A computer screen is not a great substitute for the real thing but it is available. Fortunately, I get a different piece of art as Wallpaper each time I boot my Mac.

October 2001 Rebuild Notes:

40% more pictures Smaller scans replaced with larger ones Slide show removed (more people have fast connections and large screens) For my personal use I generated a black bordered version of each image with a height to width ratio the same as my computer screen). Each time I boot it I get a different painting in the background.
